AMERICA ALL OUT

CONTRIBUTION TO WAR MR. CASEY’S TRIBUTE NEED FOR CO-OPERATION (By Teieitrapli—Press Assn.---Copyright.) (British Official Wireless.) (2 p.m.) .RUGBY, April 19. Mr. R. G. Casey, who is shortly leaving England for the Middle East, broadcast to-night on the importance of future co-operation between Britain and the United States. Mr. Casey said: “You can rely on the Americans. They have their wlioie heart in the common struggle. Their strength is growing fast. Formidable American forces and large and evergrowing numbers of American aircraft. tanks, and other weapons will be impressing themselves on our enemies alongside their British brothers from now on.

“The whole American population is now grimly intent on the most vigorous prosecution of the war, and once they start an enterprise of this sort they are an extremely robust and militant people. They will stand no half measures. Their ability to wage war and help us all to wage war is growing like a mushroom. “There is some lack of appreciation in the United States of the British' war effort, but you should not necessarily blame the Americans for that. I believe the British modest habit of understatement is the basic reason."

Mr. Casey said he believed that Anglo-American co-operation was essential for the future of tlie world. This, did not mean the exclusion of other peoples of goodwill; nor would close post-war co-operation of the British Commonwealth and tlie United States be easily achieved. It would mean a lot of give and take on both sides, but together we could put Hie world on an even keel and keep it there.
