MAYOR OF HOKITIKA
DEATH OF MR. G. A. PERRY (P.A.) HOKITIKA, this day. The death is announced of Mr George Albert Perry, 0.8. E., who was Mayor of Hokitika for the past 31 years. He suffered a short illness. The deceased, who was 70 years of age, filled many public positions, including that of chairman of the harbour board, a member of the Westland Education Board, and Borough Council. He had been mayor since 1911. He was president of the Hokitika Savings Bank and chairman of the patriotic council. He leaves a widow and a grown up family. MR. L. D. RITCHIE (P.A.) DUNEDIN, this day. The death is announced of Mr Lewis Deans Ritchie, aged 61. He was managing director of John Reid and Sons, estate agents, and a prominent member of the 1.0.0. F. Lodge.
