Jones, last night stated:—"Official advice giving the names and personnel of this unit evacuated from Singapore to Australia have now been received by Air Headquarters, Wellington, and urgent telegrams have been sent to the next-of-kin. Inquiries are being made as to the welfare of other New Zealanders who were at Singapore and a statement will be made immediately further information is received. Meantime, correspondence should be addressed: ‘Care Air Headquarters, Wellington.’ ”
