SABOTAGE PLOT
POWER LINES BLOWN UP SOUTH AFRICAN ACTS (Reed. Jan. 30, 2.30 p.m.) CAPETOWN, Jan. 29. Explosions at night put out of action 12 electric power lines supplying the Rand from Victoria Falls. It is officially stated that the explosions were an organised attempt to shut down the mining industry and endanger the lives of the underground workers. Many, telegraph, telephone lines and railway communication wires were severed.
