GERMANY MAIN FOE

OPINION IN RUSSIA PROGRAMME OF ALLIES (Reed. Jan. 30, 9 a.m.) KUIBYSHEV, Jan. 28. “Whatever happens in the Pacific, Germany remains the main foe,” said Professor Gavrilov, the well-known Communist Party spokesman, in a speech. “The Churchill-Roosevelt conversations in Washington fully support the aims we intend to carry out in 1942. Britain and America see the solution of their problem in 1943. We cannot postpone for two years the liquidation of Hitler and Germany. The programme for eliminating the aggressor in the Pacific in 1943 is obviously due to the special character of the Pacific theatre of war.”
