Fruit Tree Blight
Fiuitgrowers in Canterbury are alarmed at the Spread of silver leaf blight, which is attacking stone-r.uit orchards and trees in home gardens. The Canterbury council of the New Zealand Horticultural Trades Association has decided to send a remit to the annual conference of the association asking the Government to take action to check its spread: 'I he remit states: “The increase and spread of silver leaf infection among stone-fruit trees in Canterbury is alarming, with no clear means of checking the disease, Government action is strongly advocated, and this council suggests the matter be brought to the notice of the Horticultural Division, with a view to advising the best course of action.” Mr. T, tX Lenttie, the chairman or the Canterbury council, said that there was no doubt' about the set-i----otifeneSs of the matter. The spread o' the disease wafe insidious.
