INDUSTRIAL PEACE
AMERICAN AGREEMENT WAR-TIME MEASURE (Reed. Dec. 27, 9 a.m.) WASHINGTON. Dec. 26 Labour and management representatives agreed to forgo strikes and lock-outs for the duration of the war and to settle all disputes by peaceful means. This is the outcome of a special 'ndustrial conference convened by President Roosevelt. The agreement recommended th' ■etting up of a labour board to settle disputes similar to that established in 'he first World War. President Roosevelt said he w? c happy td accept the conference’! general points of agreement, and also the undertaking that all future disputes shall be settled by peacefu 1 means. He promised that a labour beard would be established immediately.
