MIDDLE EAST FORCES U.S. PLANS IN ERITREA (Reed. Dec. 13, 2.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, Dec. 12. The United States is virtually taking over Eritrea for the duration of the war, reports the Cairo correspondent of the Associated Press of America. The Government of Eritrea will remain British, but America has arranged to pour in thousands of technicians and workmen to build factories and assembly plants and other establishments, making Eritrea the power-house for the Middle East forces.
