LANDING IN MALAYA U.S. VESSELS SUNK (Reed. Dec. 15, 10 a.m) TOKIO, Dec. 14. Japanese Headquarters announces that Japanese landing troops in southern Malaya “had broken strong resistance and penetrated enemy positions deeply and destroyed a British tank division.” Japanese Headquarters further stated that the capture of Hong Kong was “imminent.” Naval headquarters announced that Japanese destroyers sank an American submarine off the Philippines.
