TOKOMARU BAY NEWS
GIFT FOR MINISTER (Herald Correspondent.) On Tuesday afternoon a pleasant time was spent at the mis',.p i house in Tokomaru Bay, when the Anglican Ladies’ Guild held an afternoon for the Rev. A. R. H. Morris, who leaves the Coast next week to go into camp as a chaplain. Mesdames J. Todd and C. Wilkin? and Miss Myrtle King gave vocal items which were much appreciated, and a competition, “Our Relations,” was won by Mrs. Todd. A delicious afternoon tea was served, after which Miss Busby, president of the guild, presented the guest of honour with a well-filled leather shaving hold-all which had engraved gold initials. Miss Busby conveyed to the recipient the best wishes of all present. Mr. Morris feelingly responded.
Mesdames I. Doig and J. Riddell were mid-week visitors to Gisborne'.— Corporal J. Corbett leaves to-day for Trentham camp. His wife and small son John accompany him to Gisborne. Corporal Corbett intends spending a short time in Wairoa and Palmerston North.
