NO LIGHTS ON BOATS
UNUSUAL PROSECUTION An Unusual prosecution at Thames resulted in two fishermen, Alfred Alister Dunn, of the boat Waiheke. and Leslie Bernard Wilson, of the boat Myrtle, being fined £5 each on a charge of failing to navigate their boats according to the requirements of the law. The case was a sequel to a collision in the Firth ■of Thairies on September 17, when the Myrtle was sunk and extensively damaged. No. one was injured. Prosecuting for the Marine Department, • Sergeant Murphy stated that both skippers admitted they had no lights showing. The prosecution way the first of its kind, but the department viewed the offence seriously.
