ALIEN AUTHOR IN U.S (Reed. Dec. 2, 10 a.m.) LOS ANGELES, Dec. 1. The Governor of California, Mr. Olson, has granted an unconditional 1 pardon to Jan Valtin, the author of “Out of the Night,” who served a prison term in 1926 and faces deportation as an undesirable alien. The Governor expressed the hope that the pardon will prevent Valtin’s deportation to Germany.
