SWIMMING SEASON
FIRST CLUB NIGHT The first club night of the new season of the Gisborne Amateur Surf and Swimming Club will be held in the Macrae Baths on Thursday. December 4, fromb 6.30 to 7.30 p.m. Handicap races for cup and trophies donated to the club will be swum, while there will be a relay race and a diving competition. Two cups for the junior section have been donated by Woolworths, Limited. One will be competed for by schoolboys and the other by schoolgirls, the points awarded being foxr for first, three for second, two for third, and one for each unplaced competitor. Two trophies also have been given by Mr. C. E. Brown. One will be for competition among intermediate boys and the other for women and intermediate girls. All these events will be handicaps and points will be awarded the same as for the Woolworth trophies.
