WAR ON U-BOATS

AMERICAN NAVY’S PART NEW VESSEL LAUNCHED (Reed. Dec. 1. ll a.a.) NEW YORK, Nov. 30. Rear-Admiral Adolphus Andrews, commander of the North Atlantic coastal frontier, in a speech on the occasion of the commissioning of the destroyer Ellyson, told the crew that they can expect to fight soon. “You are going into active service. This is no time for dreaming. It is up to you to bring us through the dawn of a new life. The United States Navy and Hitler’s navy both know that the sooner more destroyers of this class join the fleet, the sooner the U-boat menace will be exterminated.”
