MAORIS REMANDED
MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE SEQUEL TO FIGHT (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Henry Matthews and Phillip Matthews, Maoris, were jointly charged in the Police Court yesterday with unlawfully killing Dave Repia, thereby committing manslaughter. Henry Matthews was also charged with assaulting Repia so as to cause actual bodily harm. A third Maori, Harry Matthews, was charged with lighting in Nelson street. When the preliminary charges were presented on Monday lost against Phillip and Harry Matthews, the police said it was alleged that those two accused had been mixed up in a fight on November 22 and that shortly afterwards Repia was found lying on the footpath and subsequently died. Henry Matthews made his first appearance in court yesterday. On the application of the police all three were remanded to December 8, bail being allow^fE
