BAY OF PLENTY SEAT

LABOUR CANDIDATE PARTY ANNOUNCEMENT (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party announces that Mr. Charles Mills, J.P., has been selected to contest the Bay of Plenty seat at the by-election on behalf of the Labour Party. He is a returned soldier, having served three years overseas in the last war and has a long record of public service in the Bay of Plenty. Until recently he lived in Te Karaka, where, for 17 years, he was a successful business man and dairy farmer. He recently entered into business at Gisborne but still retains farming interests in Te Karaka. He is 47 years of age, married, with five children.
