DEATH IN SYDNEY
FORMER PRIME MINISTER FIRST OF LABOUR PARTY (Reed. Nov. 19, 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 18. The death of Mr. John Christian Watson, who was the first Labour Prime iMinistcr of Australia, has occurred. He was a pioneer of the trade union movement in Australia. He spent his youth in New Zealand, where he became a compositor. Pit eventually settled in Sydney. The House of Representatives a Canberra suspended its sitting thi: afternoon out of respect to his memory.
