COUNTY ROAD VOTES

RATEPAYERS CONTRIBUTE At its meeting yesterday, the Cook County Council decided to make application for road votes in regard to work to which ratepayers had decided to contribute. These works were:—Berry’s road, Tiniroto, £l2O, £2 for £l, Mr. Berry to contribute £6O; Newman’s road, Ngakaroa, £BO, £2 for £1; Parikanapa road, £6OO, £2 .for £l, Mr. J. M. Monckton to contribute £100; Tokonui-Tarewa, £270; £2 for £l, Mr. G. H. Coop to contribute £100; Waimata-Riverside road (Donner’s), £2OO, £1 for £l, Mr. Hegarty to contribute £IOO. “These people are willing to help themselves, and I think the council should help them,” stated the chairman, Mr. W. G. Sherratt.
