FAT EWES DEARER

REACTION TO SCHEDULE PRICES AT MATAWHERO The clarification of the export value of fat stock made last night brought a response in the small yarding of fat sheep at the Matawhero stock sale to-day, when fat ewes rose in value by about Is per head compared with last week.

Under 200 fat sheep were yarded, most of them being shorn ewes, which sold from 9s to 12s (id, while a pen of of unshorn reached 17s and a pen of second quality unshorn 12s. Five unshorn hoggets were sold at 19s 9d and a pen of shorn wethers were passed in at 18s 9d. Prices: —

Ewes.—Twelve, 12s; 25, 12s (id; 17, (l>) 10s fid; 10, 9s Sd; 9,9 s 9d; 4, unshorn, 17s; 27, (p) 11s 7d; 22. (p) 11s; 17, (p) 12s 2d; 12, 9s; 10, 12s 2d. Second Quality: Six, unshorn, 12s. Hozeets. —Five, unshorn, 19s 9d. Wethers.—Eleven, (p) 18s 9d. Store Sheep

Prices:— Ewes with Lambs.—Forty-three ewes, of fairly good frames, 51 lambs (24 ewes and 27 wethers), some early, 25s Sd; 114 wellframed ewes with 125 lambs, some early, (p) 28s 9d; 5 ewes, well framed, with 5 late lambs, one ewe yet to lamb, (p) 20s 3d; 20 ewes, fair frames, 20 mid-season lambs, (p) 20s.
