SECOND N.Z.E.F.’S FEATS

EX-SERVICEMEN’S PRIDE CONFERENCE TRIBUTE (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON; this day. The council of the New Zealand Returned Services Association yesterday placed on record, on the motion of Major-General Sir Andrew Russell, its pride in the achievements of all units of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force on sea, land and in the air, which deeds had brought honour to our Dominion and further lustre to the name of Anzac.

Congratulations were extended to the four New Zealand winners of the Victoria Cross. Sir Andrew said it was a matter of great satisfaction that the present generation was not only equalling but, as they believed and hoped, was actually excelling the needs of the previous generation. He could not remember any finer deeds than those which had resulted in the awarding of four Victoria Crosses.
