Dangerous “Fun” * The danger of tampering with small cylindrical metal objects they might find in out-of-the-way places and of putting a lighted match to their contents was brought home in an unpleasant manner to two Invercargill boys a few days, rgo. They found three of these objects in Thompson’s Bush, and not knowing that they were denotators or that they could easily cause a violent explosion they started to ‘have what they thought would be a lot of fun. The denotators were about 2in in length and about half an inch in diameter. The boys took out the contents of the two and packed them into the other one. They then placed this in a vice and put a lighted match to it. A violent explosion resulted. I One of the boys was fortunate. He: escaped with not much more than a! great shock. The other was less fortunate. Pieces of metal sprayed his chest, one of his hands and his face. The father of one of the boys later recovered several other denotators from the place where the beys had picked them up. BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Modern beauties have their bogios.
