Mrs. Thornton Jackson, Auckland, is staying at “Armadale, Fitzhcibcxt street. Mr. and Mrs. D. C. S. Hain, Waikura station, Hangaroa. were the week-end guests of the latter’s mother, Mrs. F. B. Barker at Wainui Beach. Mrs. E. J. B. Murphy, Mohaka, accompanied by her small daughtei, was the week-end guest of Mrs. G. I. Parker, Rawiri street. Mrs. H. H. B. deLautour, Wairoa, and Mrs.'W. J. McLeod, Kotemaori, were visitors of Gisborne at the weekend. Miss E. Davies, Rawiri street, returned on Friday from a visit to her aunts, the Misses Williams, Pukehou, Hawke’s Bay. Mrs. F. J. Wilkes, Gladstone road, left yesterday for Napier to join her son, Lieutenant L. F. Faram, who is on leave from Trentham camp. Mrs. Sidney Hain, Auckland, is the guest of her son and daughter-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. D. C. S. Hain, Waikura station, Hangaroa.

Mrs. •E. J. Stock, who, with hexchildren, has been spending a few days with her mother, Mrs, H. Hegarty, Harris street, returned to Tolaga ißay on Sunday. An intei-esting personality, Miss Carmen Hill. London, arrived in Gisborne last night. Miss Hill specialises in colour harmonies in direct relationship to cosmetics. Attached to the London firm of Paul Duval, Miss Hill is on a three month’s tour of New Zealand.

Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Warburton, “Wairuri,” ’ have returned to Tolaga Bay after being the guests of the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. Utting, Haronga road. Mr. and Mrs! G. Utting and small son have returned to Tolaga Bay after being the guests of the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. Utting.
