CHEERY JACK’S TRAINER SEQUEL TO DOPING (Elec. Tel Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Aug. 36, 9 a.m.) MELBOURNE. Aug. 16. The Victoria Racing Club committee disqualified for two years R. C. Stanton, the trainer of Cheery Jack, for neglect to protect that horse, who was doped prior to the Grand National Steeplechase. The committee told Stanton that they were convinced he failed to care for and protect the horse being tampered with. Stanton was dumbfounded at the decision and explained that he never suspected the presence of dopers.
