SKELETON STAFFS JAPANESE INTENTION (Reed. Aug. 14. 10.30 a.m.) SINGAPORE, Aug. 13. , Officials of the Osaka Shoshen Kaisha Shipping Line in Singapore said to-day that a skeleton staff would be maintained at Singapore, although the British freezing order had curtailed Japanese shipping operations. The officials said that ships formerly in the Singapore, India and South African services would be transferred to Tokio, Bangkok and Saigon. The Singapore Herafd, said to-day that the Japanese mining firm, Ishinai-a Sangyo Koshi, announced it would continue operations pending a clarification of the Japanese Government’s policy. The Herald denied that Japanese mining companies were shipping their machinery to Japan.
