BRITAIN’S BIG HOMES WOMEN FOR WAR WORK (Reed. Aug. 13, 2 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 12. The Labour Ministry Will purge servants from big houses throughout Britain, says : the Daily Mirror. When young servants register, the Ministry will write to their employers asking for reasons why girls should remain in domestic employment. The Ministry has decided that no healthy woman is too old at 60 to do a job which would release a young girl for war work. The Daily Mail says that because labour is becoming scarce, London women are being taken from nonessential industries and put into urgent war work. A pool of older woirien willing to work part-time is being formed.
