Mr. W. S. Watson, who was manager of the Wnirnoana Stud Farm tor some years, left to-day to take charge of the Puketutu Stud Farm near Auckland. Mr. B. P. Winter, of the staff of the Palmerston North branch of the Union Bank of Australia, Limited, has received notice of his promotion to manager of the Gore branch. Leave of absence from the Gisborne Borough Council’s meeting last night was granted to Mr. G. J. Jeune, who was in hospital. It was reported that Mrs. Jeune also was ill, and the council decided to write to Mr. and Mrs. Jeune wishing them a speedy recovery. Wing Commander 11. B. Burrell, 0.8. E., officer commanding Hobsonville air base, lias been transferred to Air Headquarters, Wellington. Wing Commander E. T. Hewlett. D.S.Q.. 0.8. E., commanding officer at Ohakea, will take charge at Hobsonville. Squadron Leader M. F. Calder, chief flying instructor at Wigram. has been promoted to acting-wing commander and appointed to take command at Ohakea.
