OBITUARY

MR. HAROLD PILKINGTON

A former well known farm manner and carrier in Gisborne, Mr. TT arold Pilkington. died at the age of 64 years. Mr. Pilkington was born in Victoria, Australia, and farmed in that district before coming to New Zealand 38 voars ago. He settled in Christchurch for a time and later married Miss Isabella Williams in that city. The couple immediately came to Gisborne. Mr. Pilkington obtainging the position of manager of Mr. W. Graham’s dairy farm at Ormond. Later Mr. Pilkington managed Mr. W. D. Lysnar’s Okitu property at Wainui Beach. Farming on his own account next interested Mr. Pilkington, but he left his property after six years to commence a carrying business in Gisborne. Illness forced him to retire from this business and for the past few years he had been living in retirement. To mourn their loss he leaves his wife, two daughters, Mrs. E. S. Trask, Veliington, and Mrs. A. R. Morrow, Gisborne and three sons, Messrs. H. C uid W. A. Pilkington, Gisborne and ' s r. L. K. Pilkington, Auckland. There are also five grandchildren.

A service will be held at his late residence, 42 Awapuni road, at 2.45 i.m. to-morrow prior to the funeral leaving for the Taruheru cemetery.
