A drowning accident occurred in the Waipa River, four miles from Otorohanga on Sunday. The victim was: ,
Edward Albert Birchali, aged 16, son of Mr. Alfred Birchali, sharemilker of Pirongia road, Otorohanga
A number of boys were playing on a log in a lagoon formed by an inlet of the Waipa River, which was in flood and three fell into the water.
