LITTLE IMPORTANCE

PROTEST BY VICHY

R.A.F. RAID ON SFAX

(British Official Wireless.)

Reed. 11 a.m. RUGBY, June 3. Vichy’s protest regarding the damage reported to have been suffered by a French vessel in Sfax during the attack by the Royal Air Force on an Italian ship sheltering in the harbour has not yet reached London from Madrid, where it was handed to the British Ambassador.

It will probably be some days before the text of the protest reaches London, but the continued use of French waters by enemy vessels and the appropriate action which has since been taken by the Royal Air Force combine to rob the protest arising from the original incident of its importance.
