ATTACK ON E-BOAT

Reed. 2.40 p.m. RUGBY, June 2. “There has been some slight enemy activity off our coasts during the day,” states an Air Ministry communique. “A single raider dropped bombs at a point on the north-east, causing only minor damage. There were no casualties. “Royal Air Force fighters to-day ranged over northern France and the Channel .swooping low out of the clouds to attack motor transport, aerodromes and an E-boat. One pilot came down to 500 ft. and shot up three large military lorries and then found an • aerodrome and diving to 100 ft. let go with his cannons at four German aircraft on the ground. “A sergeant-pilot twice f dived to attack an E-boat in the channel and afterwards saw it wallowing in the sea with its engines stopped. An American pilot-officer shot up two Messerschmitts at an aerodrome.
