Old Folks’ War Effort

Sir,—l understand that there arc in the Dominion over 30.000 old people, myself included, who receive universal superannuation. As the sum received is to be increased by £2 10s this year, I think it would be a line chance for we old folk to contribute to the war fund by asking the Government, instead of paying us that increase, to pay it into a fund on behalf of the old people of New Zealand, to be used in any manner the War Cabinet thinks possible. Any of my old friends I have mentioned the matter to quite agree that the idea is quite all right. old-timer.
