STORE AND FAT SHEEP CATTLE RATES RECEDE ADDINGTON MARKET (For Pi-cbh Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this clay. Small entries were the rule in most sections at the Addington stock sale yesterday, and in some there was an improvement in values. In the store sheep section the entry was small, comprising mostly station and forward wether lambs. These improved by Is a head. Ewe lambs made to 19s. Two-tooth ewes were Is to Is Gd a head better. In the fat lamb section 1150 were penned and there was a keen sale, the export schedule having improved. Top quality made from 29s to 345.

The fat sheep yarding was small, totalling about 3000 head, and there was an all-round advance of Is a head. Lines of quality southern ewes sold freely, few old and light ewes being penned. The best wethers made from 25s to 31s, tops to 345, others 22s to 265, best ewes 18s to 21s, medium to 17s, and light to 15s. In the fat cattle section 495 head were penned, including southern lines. The market opened firmly but receded and finished up weakly. Good steers made £l4 to £l6, tops to £lB, medium £ll 10s to £l3 10s, and light down to £B. A few good heifers or cows came forward, the best making £l2 and £ll respectively. This class was weaker. The best beef made from 35s to 37s per 3001 b, with tops a shade more, medium to good 32s to 34s 6d, inferior down to 25s per 1001 b.

There was a heavy porker entry in the pig section, and there was an easing of 3s to 4s a head. There was a similar easing for bacon pigs. Porkers made from £2 8s 6d to £2 14s 6d, the average being 6.}d to 7d per lb. Baconers made £3 2s 6d to £5 4s 6d, the average being 7cl per lb.
