Last Night’s Forecast Forecast Winds predominantly moderate to fresh and varying between south and west, but local westerly gales still likely in and about Cook and Fovcaux Straits. Seas —In New Zealand waters, rough south of Nugget Point, and the west coast of the North Island, elesewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Fresh dr strong south-westerly winds, sea rather rough. Weather changeable in western districts from Waikato southwards, in Southland and on the Otago Coast with passing showers and fair intervals elsewhere mainly fair to fine but an isolated shower or two likely early in the day east of the ranges from Wellington province southwards. Temperatures: Cool. To-day’s North Island Report Blue skies were again prevalent this morning throughout the North Island, although' there were detached clouds and overcast conditions north of East Cape, For the most part the wind was from the north-west, aiid varied from light air to high in force. A slight rise in temperatures was noted at !) a.m., and they were as follows: Auckland. 60 degrees; Tauranga. 58; Napier and Wellington, 56; Gisborne, an; East Cape. 49; and Opotiki. 48. Seas were smooth to moderate, and rough in exposed parts. Midday Forecast Forecast.—Westerly winds strong at fines in the south, elsewhere moderate. Weather line and mild. Seas rough off shore.
