NINE PEOPLE INJURED

ONE SOLDIER SERIOUSLY COLLISION ON HIGHWAY (Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., this day. Nine persons were injured in a collision between a car containing civilians and a truck with troops aboard on the Palmerston NorthFoxton highway on Saturday night. Eight were admitted to hospital. One soldier, named Thursiston, of Dannevirke, of the 2nd Mounted Rifle Brigade Camp, Foxton, is in a serious condition. The other soldiers injured were named Clark, Creagh and Hare, also of Foxton Camp. The other's injured in the accident and admitted to hospital were Mr. and Mrs. J. Wass, Palmerston North, Mr. J. Wass, jun., and Miss Betty Wass. Miss Dorothy Wass was also injured slightly, but was able to go home.

The Wass family were going to Foxton and the truck was coming from the camp. With the exception of Thursiston, none of those concerned was seriously hurt.
