Eerch, of Port Ahurlri, who has been invalided home from overseas, was the use of the London tube service ns an underground shelter during air raid;. “I thought tine tropics were hot enough.” Private Beach said, “but It was nothing to the sweltering heat of the underground tubes. Women and children predominated in the use of the tube stations during an air. raid, and usually they were closely packed.”
