SAPPERS TO RESCUE
ALEXANDRIA, May 3. An Australian from Greece said that his brigade escaped disaster at Servia by withdrawing over a river 150 ft. wide. Sappers made a trestle bridge, but this left a 50ft. gap. However, the gap was filled by a tree trunk, and every Australian was able to pass over safely.
