AIR-MAIL SUSPENDED
India and egypt FIGHTING IN IRAQ (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Postmaster-General, the Hon. P. C. Webb, announces that owing to the situation in Iraq, the Empire air mail service between India and Egypt has temporarily been suspended. In the meantime the public is recommended not to send air-mail correspondence for the United Kingdom via Cairo and Capetov/n. So far as airmail correspondence for the Middle East and Africa is concerned, some delay must occur owing to the necessity of the final stages of the journey being made by sea.
