PATUTAHI NEWS

ANNUAL SCHOOL BALL (Horald Corruspomlout.) The annual children's fancy dress ball, held in the Patutahi Hall on Saturday night, proved an unqualified success, and the staff of the school was congratulated on the splendid way in which the children carried out the different dances. The dances were under the direction of Mr. E. W. Seville, assisted by the lady teachers. The ball was attended by many residents of the district, both parents and friends of the children. Members of the Patutahi School Committee, assisted by many of the ladies present, provided a sumptuous supper, which was served from tables' adorned with vases of chrysanthemums. The majority of the children were in fancy dress, and they presented a. colourful picture. The music for the primers’ dances was provided by Miss Scott. The latter portion of the evening was given over to the adults, dance music being provided by Mrs. F. Ladd. During an interval Mr. T. W. Sewell, chairman of the Patutahi School Committee, welcomed home Private G. Jones, who has been invalided home.
