A Royal Air Force Middle East communique states that in the Balkans bomber aircraft of the Royal Air Force continued vigorous resistance yesterday to the enemy troops invading Greece and Yugoslavia. Heavy attacks were delivered against tanks and motor transport convoys in the Lake Doiran area. Bombs were observed to burst among tanks and vehicles on roads between Strumicn and Doiran and a bridge over the railway at Dcvdelija was damaged by direct hits.

The British United Press correspondent at Budapest says the Athens radio announced that the Royal Air Force had again raided Durazzo and renewed raids had been made on enemy positions in the Struma Valley. Supply lines, troops and convoys were attacked.

The German news agency in Berlin stated that Yugoslav planes raided Pees, a big Hungarian industrial and commercial centre, at noon on Tuesday. “Hungarian anti-aircraft batteries drove off the raiders, shooting down one,” stated the German news agency.

A despatch from Belgrade estimates that the German raids on the Yugoslav capital resulted in several hundred people being killed. The injured were estimated at 3000.
