GENEROUS GIFTS At the monthly meeting of the Cook County Women's Guild, held at the Heni Materoa Children’s Home yesterday, the members carried a motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Sister Wheeler. Those present at the meeting were Mesdames H. G. Wellborne, chairman, J. E. Newton, I. J. Quigley, H. Holmes, W. Neal, E. R. Scott, A. Sealey, IT. W. T. Buckley, J, W. Fc-rgie, and H. Gilmer. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames W. M. Jenkins, H. A. Angell and A. F. Hall. Accounts amounting to £3l 10s 9d were passed for payment. The matron reported that there were 27 children in the home. The following donors were thanked for their gifts: Fruit and vegetables, the Rev. Mr. Lennox, Mrs. Aires, Mr. Moore, Mr. Hardy, Mr. Williams, the Rev. Mr. Spence, Mr. J, G. Williams, Mrs. Newton, Mrs. Kane, Anonymous, and Patriotic Shop: milk and cakes, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church; meat, vegetables and wood, Mr. Peddle: clothes, Mrs. Russell: grapes, Mr. W. Irwin; cakes and jelly, Methodist Ladies’ Guild; patchwork quilt, Mrs. Howchow; toys, Mrs. Willock; cakes. Presbyterian Bible Class; free seats King’s Theatre.
