MOTU NEWS

GOLF CLUB DANCE (Herald Correspondent.) The newly-formed Motu Golf Club commenced its activities when it held a dance in the Motuhora Hall last Saturday evening. There was a good attendance and the function proved a financial success.

Music was supplied by Mr. K. Waiwatai, Miss Una Reed, and Messrs. A. Travena and S. Davis playing enjoyable extras. Mr. R. F. Jackson was the M.C. The winners of the euchre were Mrs. A. Thomson and Mr. F. Donaldson, other prizes going to Mr. S. Ottoway and Mrs. J. Quirk. Miss B Dabenport and Mr. K. Ellmers were successful in winning a novelty dance and competitions were won by Messrs. G. Ruru and J. Green, Kaitaratahi. Among those present were Mesdames F. Read, G. T. Hutchins, C. Keith (Auckland), J. Collins, G. Begg, W. J. Reed, N. Pederson, H. C. Boys, A. W. Thomson, G. Richardson, F. W. Peddle, Mason, J. Quirk, R. A. Shaw, E. Stewart, G. Daly, H. Munro, A. Clark, E. Bain, and T. Parker; Misses B. Fisher, D. Donaldson, U. Reed, A. Richardson, Jackson (3), P. and J. Twisleton, J. and D, Boys, E. Lewis, J. Wilkins, D. Bain and B. Davenport.

• Mrs. K. Oxcnham, Whakatanc, is the guest of Mrs. G. Henry, Motu.—Mrs. C. Keith, Auckland, is visiting her mother, Mrs. F. Donaldson, Motu.
