LEADERS’ COMMENDATION NIGHTLY DEVOTION (Per Prew Assoslatfon.] WELLINGTON, this day. The Governor-General, Six; Cyril Newall, and the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser commend the adoption in New Zealand of the practice in Britain of daily silent prayer.
Mr. Fraser announced that arrangements had been made for the recording of the striking of the chimes of Big Ben over all stations, national and commercial, at 9 p.m. so that during that time, as commended by the King, the people of New Zealand may join in spirit with the people of the United Kingdom by spending this time in silent prayer.
