take a]) his post after the Easter holidays. Mr. Sunderland is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Sunderland, Gisborne, and in 1939 completed a four years' course at King’s College. Auckland, where he was prominent in ail forms of sport. In Gisborne he has played with the Old Boys’ Cricket Club, and has taken part also in the activities of the Y.M.C.A. physical culture classes, the Gisborne Amateur Athletic and Harriers' Club, and the Gisborne-Surf and Swimming Club.
