Sports Clue, with the proud distinction of being the only returned soldiers’ sports club functioning in the Dominion, will celebrate at the Easier Monday gathering its twenty-first birthday, and Digger.; throughout the county are. as a whole, ‘•pulling their weight" to make the function an outstanding success. As a special birthday attraction three well known axemen, with F. Anderson in the lead, will stage a demonstration of chopping from a jigger board Milt, from the ground. This type of exhibition has not been staged previously in the Gisborne district, and should be the means of creating exceptional interest in the sports meeting. Miss M. Norcross returns to Inglewood this week after being the guest of her sister, Mrs. A. W. Movcrley, Te Karaka.
A further award to a pupil of the Te Karaka District High School was made by the Royal Life-saving Society tins week when Olivo Ribbon qualified for the award of merit.
