FREE AUSTRIANS
SOUTH AFRICAN BODY JOHANNESBURG, Feb. 17. “Free Austria” has established its first organisation in South Africa ai Johannesburg. It is believed to be the second in the world, the other being in Canada. The “Austrian Office” in London, although the mouthpiece of the dormant State, with the former Ambassador, Sir George Frankenstein, as one of its leaders, has not vet formally assumed the “Free Austrian” title. The Johannesburg organisation is officially called the “Association of Free Austrians,” and was formed at a special meeting of the former Austrians. Mr. E. .1. Damn, who was Consul at Johannesburg for the old Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, has been elected president. "We have 200 to 300 real Austrians in South Africa.” said Mr. Daum.
