VIOLENT ATTACKS
BRITISH BOMBING ITALIAN ’DROMES ADVANCE IN ERITREA (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Vress Assn.) (British Ofllcial Wireless.) Reed. 2.40 p.m. RUGBY, April 7. A communique issued by Royal Air Force Headquarters in the Middle East says: “Enemy aircraft at Komboloha, near Dessie, were machinegunned. Three CR 42’s, two CR 32's and three S79’s were destroyed. A number of other aircraft were severely damaged. “In Eritrea, South African and the Free French Air Forces continued to give active support to the advancing troops. “In Cyrcnaica, bombing attacks were made on enemy transport in the region of Agheila on Saturday night. “The same night the aerodrome at Calate. on the Island of Rhodes, was raided by our aircraft, but the full results could not be observed. From all operations our aircraft returned safely with the exception of one bomber.” The Berlin radio stated that Italian and German troops, advancing from Benghazi, reached Tokra. Other detachments reached Seledim, 45 miles south-eastward of Benghazi.
