POLICY IN AUSTRALIA SYDNEY, April 5. Steps to maintain the A.I.F. abroad out of Australian resources, instead of relying upon BritiSn advances, were forecast by the directors of the Commonwealth Bank in their annual report issued a week ago, and this week's bank returns suggests that payments on acount of the A.I.F. are now being made in London, London balances of the bank are down by I.E-5,120,000, anc! offsetting changes in deposits and in the holding ,nf Government securities point to the GqinmonWcaUli Government having drawn bn its deposits and sold securities to the bank so as to buy the necessary London funds.
