OVER £SOO IN HAND

MARINE DRIVE APPEAL FURTHER £IOO REQUIRED EXTENSION OF TIME The money required for the formation and metalling of the 60 chains of Marine drive from Stanley road to Awapuni Lagoon, estimated to cost £7OO, has been successfully raised. This sum includes £533 donated locally and the Government centennial subsidy. A further subsidy will be available for additional funds raised in the East Coast centennial district, and an effort is to be made to secure £IOO more for tree planting and general beautification of the drive. An announcement was made recently that the fund would be closed on March 15, but the date has been extended now to 10 a.m. on Thursday. Further amounts have been promised, and will be received up to Thursday morning by the executive committee of the Gisborne Thirty Thousand Club. The latest list of acknowledgements is as follows:
