SPECIAL AREA PROPOSED WHANGAROA COUNTY (Per Press Association.) WIIANGAREI, this day. The Whangaroa Hospital Board discussed a proposal by the Minister of Health, the Hon. A. H. Nordmeyer, in connection with the Social Security Act. The Minister had proposed that Whangaroa County should be constituted a special afea under the Act whereby the superintendent of the hospital would become a full-time employee of the board which would undertake the operation of free medical benefits, receiving a capitation per head of population, which is mainly Maori, The board, While sympathetic, asked! for further information before committing itself.
