CHILDREN SAVED

RESCUE IN AIR RAID . BOMBERS OVER BRITAIN (Elec. Tel. Copyright—-United' Press Assn.) (Reed. March 8. 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 7. The hero of the air raids yesterday was Mr. Jack Riches, who, when a stick of bombs straddled eight houses in an East Anglian town, went into a house to rescue three children. He had carried two downstairs when a bomb directly hit the next house, burying Mr. Riches and the three children under the debris, but he managed to get the children out of the house before it collapsed. An official communique says: "At dusk yesterday enemy aircraft dropped bombs on a town in the wrist of England. Several houses were damaged and a small number of casualties were caused. In the early hours of darkness bombs were dropped

elsewhere, but they did very little damage. No casualties, are reported.”
